Frugal Living
With everyone counting pennies these days and trying to get thomost out our dollars it is always good to get tips from others who have found ways to save and make things easier for oursleves. The price of gas while lower now that last month still creates concern and we hav elearned to combine trips to save gas which also makes us a "greener" society, not a bad thing either.
Be frugal starts at home and teaching our children good habits and not to waste as has been the trend in the past. Recycling can take many forms from putting items inthe recycle bin to reusing items for other things. We recycle anything we can, make a composte pile and recycle food scraps by using an old milk or plastic jug and dumping every few days on your compostepile. Reuse plastic comtainers for food, small objects, craft or office supplies ( wrap paper- one side is used around and label to recycle more)
Buy only what you need at the store and try the store brands they are the same, also try using powdered milk as you can make what you need as you need it. Shop online when possible to save trips to th store and get deals.
Plan out your trips to include a round about so that you are not zig zagging all around town, dropping off at soccer practice stop by the store that is nearby while you wait or on the way home. Make a grocery list so you don't forget something and have to go back ( keep a running list is easy-post it on the fridge)
Try sharing and carpooling to cut time and gas, encourage your kids to bike, walk and share rides.
Care for the environment and your town by picking up roadside trash and lend a hand to elderly or overworked neighbors instead of complaining.
If we all do just a little bit each day we can work together to improve not only our lives but the envirnoment and the world
