Thoughts on Fate

By S.e. Simmons of Fortress Nutrition

As i look back on life I see may places where i could have improved or changed things butI left my lot to fate, believing that "what was meant to be" will happen no matter what. Now to a certain extent fate does take a hand in our life path in the fact that we are "burdened or given" certain attributes by our parents and history that can not be changed.

For example we are given certain tendancies in our genes to be pre-disposed to inherited disease and health issues. Of course those can be over come or dealt with if we choise to be aware of them and react accordingly. Such as taking care of ourselves, eating right, etc.

Then there are the pre-disposed notions that are "planted or instilled" in our heads by mostly well meaning adults but non the less they lay under the surface of our conscience for our whole lives unless we truly learn to totaly break away from all the traditional teachings of youth.

SO here we sit at a cross roads with choices abounding and we worry about makig the wrong choices and will mentally punish ourselves if we choose wrongly.

But who is to say that all the wrong choices were not a part of Fates plan to begin with. Maybe by following fate and making those "wrong choices" we have actually followed our true lifes path and accomplished what was meant to be.

Can it be that a poor choice made as a teenager has lead me to the beliefs and morals I hold dear today? Looking back I say yes that is true for who I was as a teen no longer applies to the adult I have evolved into but those choices made me take a look at my path and change to a better direction.

Has fate "burdened" me with lessons so that I can truly achieve a higher standard? Or are those lessions, many hard learned, an attempt to get me back on the path?

Fate seems to be an all accepting belief that there is a purpose for life but more so a purpose for the bad, sad and negative things that befall each of us.

Can we truly change our "fate" or do we just wander off the path occassionally only to be dragged back, sometimes kicking and screaming, to finish out our course?

But then again all of our "fates" are connectd just as we re all connected for no "one" person can speak or act in any way that does not directly and indirectly effect other people. Everything we do has a ripple effect and most often we never even realize how far reaching our actions truly are. So an off handed comment may travel a long road and because of "fate" the right person will hear it and be inspired.

So my gift to you is this little blurb of thought that may in someway inspire you and help to complete or propell you on the road of "fate"
